I loved being able to photograph an intimate in-home newborn session with Taryn, Jake, and their beautiful babies, Lennox and Leland! This session was not just about capturing images but preserving cherished moments that hold immense emotional value. It’s a gentle reminder of how important it is to capture every single moment, no matter the type of session.
A Sweet & Intimate In-Home Session
Fun fact, I have been following Taryn and Jake’s journey over the years! It all began in 2020 when I captured their engagement photos. It was during this shoot that they shared the joyous news of expecting their first child. Their son, Leland Axel Hensley, was there to witness their wedding in 2021, bringing an extra layer of joy to the occasion. Leland was the cutest little guy you’d ever meet, full of life and love. In September 2022, the family’s world was turned upside down when Leland was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Over the next year, they endured the unimaginable pain of numerous treatments.
Despite Leland’s brave fight, he sadly passed away on December 13th, 2023. Just four weeks before this heart-wrenching event, Taryn discovered she was pregnant again. She believes wholeheartedly that Leland played a part in this miracle while he was still with them. During the in-home session, the love between Taryn, Jake, and their children was palpable. It was a beautiful experience, filled with moments that words can hardly capture. The strength and love that these parents show to their babies are truly inspiring, leaving me speechless every time I reflect on the session.
