I had the honor of capturing Kat and David’s special moment in the breathtaking Sequoia National Park, and let me tell you, it was incredible! I’m all set to photograph Kat and David’s proposal in one of my favorite spots on Earth – Sequoia National Park and I had been chatting with Kat about the plans, but then… plot twist! I got this DM from David asking if he can give me a call. My heart skipped a beat because I just knew what was coming!
Kat & David’s Romantic Proposal
And I was right! He wanted to propose during our session! I was soo excited! We brainstormed some ideas on how to surprise Kat, and he was totally on board with everything. I have two go-to spots for proposals: right in the middle of those majestic trees or at this jaw-dropping lookout point. David chose the lookout (great taste, if you ask me!), so I decided to save that for the proposal! We kicked off the shoot among the towering sequoias, and can I just say, Kat was an absolute natural! She kept mentioning she felt nervous, but you’d never know it from her genuine, radiant smile. However, she did mention that she and David aren’t big on PDA, so maybe all the lovey-dovey poses were throwing her off a bit. Little did she know what was coming!
Finally, we made our way to the lookout spot. I put Kat in this pose where David was “supposed” to sneak up on her. But instead of sneaking, he got down on one knee right behind her. When she turned around…There he was, ring in hand! The look on Kat’s face was priceless! She did the cutest little cry, and I swear, it was like watching a real-life fairy tale unfold right before my eyes. Talk about a picture-perfect moment!
